Ruth Bell Graham often spent family time over a bowl of ice cream topped with homemade chocolate sauce.

Reminiscing about her grandmother, Cissie Graham Lynch once wrote, “Oh, how I miss her twinkling eyes, her voice, her wit, her passion, her contagious joy, but more than anything else, I [miss] her wisdom.

“I want to sit around her large round kitchen table and sip on a cup of coffee and just talk to her. Well, at her table it would be more like Häagen-Dazs ice cream with hot fudge on top.”

Ruth’s Chocolate Sauce

1 cup sugar
1 cup corn syrup
2 cups crème
2 squares bitter chocolate
Pinch of salt
Dash of vanilla

Instructions:

Cook until sticky. Best served over ice cream!
