When the archives team at Billy Graham Evangelistic Association was searching for an old sermon a couple of years ago, they stumbled across something else—Billy Graham Crusade footage from 30 years ago that they believe has never seen the light of day.
The footage was taken on July 25, 1985 in Anaheim, California, and features a message from Billy Graham along with appearances from George Beverly Shea, Cliff Barrows and a host of special guests. It was filmed during the Southern California Billy Graham Crusade, which broke multiple attendance records at Orange County’s Anaheim Stadium.
Over the course of 10 incredible summer nights, half-a-million people heard the Gospel in 14 languages, leading to more than 30,000 decisions for Christ.
On July 25, exactly 30 years from the date it was recorded, the newly restored video of one of those amazing evenings aired for the first time.
The new Billy Graham Classic debuted on Trinity Broadcasting Network (TBN). It will be shown several more times on TBN and The Church Channel the week of July 26.
