Billy Graham Library Hosts Monthly Book Talks

Paul Campbell, who works in Ruth’s Attic bookstore at the Billy Graham Library, is a former educator who loves books. He led a recent discussion on Choosing the Extraordinary Life by pastor and author Robert Jeffress.

In a cozy corner of the Billy Graham Library, a small group settles in on leather couches to discuss a book and encourage one another in their walk with the Lord.

These new Book Talks, hosted by Library staff, allow for monthly conversations about one of the Biblically-based titles found in Ruth’s Attic bookstore.

It’s quiet in this wood-paneled nook as bookstore associate Paul Campbell cracks open the book of the month, Choosing the Extraordinary Life: God’s 7 Secrets for Success and Significance by Robert Jeffress.

Based on the life of the Prophet Elijah, the book guides readers in uncovering their spiritual gifts and fulfilling their God-given purpose.

Yvonne Dundee heard about Book Talks through an email from the Billy Graham Library and thought Dr. Jeffress’ title might be helpful for this season of her life.

“It sounded like it would give me the tools to get more out of life—discover what else I’m supposed to be doing,” she said.

Dundee, a retired nurse, said she was “enriched” by the small group discussion as other participants helped her see all the ways she’s using her talents without even realizing it—and challenged her to continue living boldly for Jesus Christ.

“I just feel good that I have some gifts and that I’m using them,” she said.

These small group gatherings are held once a month on Wednesday mornings from 9:30 to 10:30. Space is limited, so be sure to RSVP early to reserve your spot and receive your free copy of that month’s book.
