Answer
How can God give children to people and then let them abuse them? I don't understand how anyone could do this, but whenever I read about child abuse I always ask myself why God did it. Is it wrong for me to question God?
Answer
Last week, a friend of mine lost her husband to cancer. I went to see her the next day, but I really felt awkward and didn't know what to say. How can I help someone like this? I've never lost anyone close to me, which makes me feel even more inadequate.
Answer
I know the Bible says God can bring good out of evil but it sure hasn't happened to me. I won't go into the details, but I've been going through some very hard times recently, and sometimes I think God must have turned His back on me.
Answer
I know Jesus wants me to love everyone the way He does but I just can't do it. I was abused as a child, and I can't just wave a wand and have all those memories and emotional scars go away, can I? I guess God loves those who hurt me, but I can't go there.

Whom Then Shall I Fear?
Answer
Friends say my response to any problem is to panic, and they're right. I know I ought to turn to God and trust Him when problems arise, but I just don't think about it at the time. How can I change this?
Answer
I've been going through some hard times lately. I'm a Christian, but have I done something wrong and God is punishing me for it? I don't know what I did wrong, but I sure wish I could get this behind me.
Answer
I have suffered from severe anxiety most of my life; I'm even on medication for it. Does this mean I can't go to heaven, since Jesus said it was a sin to worry? I really do believe in Jesus, but I'm very concerned about this.
Answer
I finally had to face the fact that my husband was an alcoholic and things weren't going to get better because he had no desire to change. He finally moved out because he said he was tired of my nagging, but now I feel guilty because I'm not around to take care of him. Should I ask him back?
Answer
I'm afraid my husband is about to get addicted to painkillers. He had major back surgery a couple of months ago and says he has to have them to fight the pain. This scares me, but all he cares about is getting relief. I don't know what to do. Can you help?
Answer
I had heart bypass surgery a few months ago, and I don't like what's been happening to me. I know I ought to be happy I came through it, but I've been depressed and short-tempered since then, and that isn't like me. I know it's hard on my family. Sometimes I wish God would just take me.
Answer
My husband says we ought to let our teenaged sons (15 and 17) start drinking alcohol with dinner when we do, because they'll start drinking soon enough anyway and we might as well go ahead and let them. I didn't grow up this way, but do you think this is a good approach?
