On Saturday, Will Graham spoke to more than 200 believers in Fredericksburg, Virginia—where he plans to host an evangelistic outreach called the Rappahannock Area Celebration this June.
This months-long effort isn’t possible without locals who are passionate about seeing their neighbors come to know Christ.
“Eternity is at stake. That’s what this battle is about. Historically, Northern Virginia is known as a battleground,” the evangelist said, referencing the many Civil War battlefields in and around Fredericksburg. “It’s still a battleground. And we’re fighting for the souls of men and women.”
In addition to hearing how they could get involved in the Celebration, those gathered worshipped God through songs led by Josh Havens of The Afters.
“When I receive an invitation to speak in a city, the very first thing I ask about is the climate of prayer. Does the community have a remnant of believers who have been faithfully praying over the course of several years? If the answer is yes, it likely means that the area is spiritually ready for an evangelistic outreach.” —Will Graham
In the coming months, Fredericksburg churches will gather for prayer, planning and training leading up to the June 25 Celebration.
While he addressed a crowd of Christians on Saturday, Will Graham will share the Gospel with those who may not have a relationship with Christ when the evangelist returns this summer.

“God has a godly purpose for you, wherever you are in life,” Will Graham said. “You are an influencer in that area for Him. You are an ambassador for Christ. We’re going to represent the King. And we’re going to invite people to meet the King, because He can change lives.”
As Virginia believers think and pray about who they can invite to this Celebration, will you ask God to fill them with courage and love? If you’re in the area, find out how you can get involved in the Rappahannock Area Celebration.
