Veterans of All Ages Meet at Billy Graham Library
More than 130 people attended the Billy Graham Library's first ever Veterans Breakfast. One veteran saluted the flag during the Pledge of Allegiance.
Master Sgt. Henry Holley served in World War II and in the Korean War. He led a prayer for the veterans.
The oldest veteran in attendance, Porter Morgan, met the youngest veteran in attendance, Brandon McAlister.
Brandon McAlister just finished basic training. He attended the Veterans Breakfast with his parents, Patrick and Kathy, who both served in the Army.
Everyone stood to say the Pledge of Allegiance, and to sing the National Anthem and "God Bless America."
Many veterans took the Library's Journey of Faith tour after the breakfast to learn more about Billy Graham's ministry and the Gospel message he has preached for decades.

John Cass is BGEA's director of Internet Evangelism. He also served in Desert Storm and addressed the crowd at Tuesday's breakfast.
Briefly ditching the hat to pray.
Veterans heard a message about how Jesus Christ give people a fresh start. Those struggling with the past were encouraged to give it up to God.
Cindy Kessler led the group in singing the National Anthem and "God Bless America."

Porter Morgan, 92, of Arden, N.C., came to the Library with three friends from church. Morgan retired in 1987 from the building supply business and said he's "been on vacation since then."
Tom Phillips, vice president of the Billy Graham Library, shared how several people in his own family have served in the military. “You’ve preserved the heritage of this nation," he told the crowd.
Each branch of the military was honored during the breakfast. Service women were also applauded.
Library volunteers were eager to serve veterans a hot breakfast.
