Will Graham is sharing the hope of Christ throughout Canada. His Canada tour started Oct. 26 in Rankin Inlet, Nunavut—a remote town not far from the Arctic Circle.
“This is our moment,” said longtime Rankin Inlet resident Kevin Sanguin. “Every community could use a revival. My heart is here, with the people here, and I see the needs every day…we just desire for the Lord to come and to minister to hearts.”
Residents of Rankin Inlet said the Celebration of Hope is an answer to their prayers. The coastal community faces challenges including isolation, unemployment and the high cost of living—supplies must arrive by air or by barges on Hudson Bay.
“Telling someone else the Good News of Jesus Christ is one of the greatest privileges I know, for when others hear and believe the Gospel, their lives are changed forever. It’s also one of our greatest responsibilities.” —Will Graham
Months of prayerful preparation led up to the two-day Rankin Inlet Celebration of Hope. Evangelism training, prayer meetings and worship nights culminated in the evangelistic event on Oct. 26-27.
Rankin Inlet is a small, coastal community of about 2,700 that is home to many Inuit people.
Temperatures in the Nunavut community are below freezing about nine months of the year, due to a subarctic climate that includes chilling winds and blizzards.
Will Graham chats with The Color, a Christian band from Manitoba, Canada, that is helping to lead musical worship during the Celebration. Will has visited many parts of Canada for past Celebrations and says he loves the country—and the cold.
"Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation.” —Mark 16:15
