An estimated 7,300 people came to Fairgrounds Park in Jackson Friday night to hear Franklin Graham preach the Gospel. It was his third stop on the Decision America Tennessee Tour, which began on May 15.
Franklin Graham said it’s only by the grace of God that we can be free from sin. “For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God.” —Ephesians 2:8
Dove Award-winning singer and songwriter Jeremy Camp’s personal testimony and heartfelt lyrics resonated with the crowd.
Jackson sits halfway between Memphis and Nashville along Tennessee's Music Highway.
A Billy Graham Rapid Response Team chaplain prays with a family at the evangelistic event.
"Seek the Lord and His strength; Seek His face evermore!" — 1 Chronicles 16:11
“There’s nothing that you’ve done that He won’t forgive. … Turn around and put your faith in Jesus Christ tonight,” Franklin Graham implored the crowd.
“This is a holy moment,” Franklin Graham said after people responded to the invitation to put their faith in Jesus.
One of Jackson's most well-known residents was Davy Crockett—“King of the Wild Frontier” and a three-time U.S. congressman. Christ followers in this city would also like it to be known as a place where Jesus is king.
“Jesus, you are the way,” the crowd sang with Jeremy Camp.
Many people seek happiness in life, but the Bible doesn’t tell us that’s the ultimate goal, Franklin Graham said. Instead, Scripture says we need to be at peace with God.
