Military Chaplains Have Fresh Encounter With God at The Cove
Military chaplains and their spouses from across the U.S. gathered recently at
The Billy Graham Training Center at The Cove
. The Military Chaplain Retreat, offered by the
Billy Graham Rapid Response Team
, gave these faithful workers a special time to experience God’s refreshment and encouragement.
The retreat took place from November 30 to December 3 in Asheville, North Carolina. Attendees reveled in this year's beautiful snowfall.
The Tommy Coomes Band provided inspiring worship music.
There was comradery in praising God together.
The chaplains and their spouses wore masks in keeping with COVID-19 safety precautions.
Chaplains and their spouses heard from Dr. Gary Chapman, author of the popular
Five Love Languages
series who teaches at marriage conferences throughout the U.S.
As part of the retreat, couples enjoyed meals and fellowship together. The Cove is known for its scrumptious food.
Chaplain Maj. Gen. (Ret.) Doug Carver was one of several speakers at the four-day conference.

The Cove is beautifully decorated for Christmas, and the trees make for lovely backdrops.
The event was open to active-duty military chaplains as well as National Guard and reservist chaplains.
This fun table of candy and snacks was a big hit. Attendees picked out their favorites to enjoy.
Dr. Richard Blackaby, president of Blackaby Ministries International, shared encouragement from God's Word.
Praying together.
The event provided opportunities to see old friends and make new acquaintances with a common interest.
Chaplains traveled long distances for the retreat. Registration information for the 2021 event will be
available online
