Encouraging Tornado Survivors With God’s Hope
The Billy Graham Rapid Response Team (BG-RRT) shared Christ's love in Sullivan County, Ind., after a tornado ripped through this small, tight-knit community on March 31. Here, a crisis-trained chaplain talks with a survivor as clean-up efforts are underway behind them.
Three people in the community died—including a mother and son—after a tornado picked up their home and slammed it to the ground. At this Sullivan County home (left), cement steps are about all that’s left.
Chaplains visit with a resident who was at home when the twister ripped off much of his roof. After a time of prayer, the new friends share an encouraging hug.
Chaplains listen as a community member tells them about riding out the storm. The EF3 tornado's winds were estimated to be as high as 155 mph.
A resident and family members who were helping with clean-up paused to circle up with chaplains for prayer.
A chaplain walks past the ministry's Mobile Ministry Center, a quiet spot for people to take a break from the chaos of their circumstances to talk and pray.
Chaplains visit with an elderly woman who told them she could hear the wind from the tornado roar by her house. Will you keep this community in prayer, as well as many others in the South and Midwest that were devastated by this line of storms?
