After the Hurricane: Chaplains Share About the One Who Can Calm Any Storm
Georgia:
In the aftermath of Hurricane Idalia, these
Billy Graham Rapid Response Team (BG-RRT)
chaplains take time to lift up prayer requests to the God of all comfort.
Florida:
Chaplains are working alongside disaster relief organization Samaritan’s Purse in Taylor and Pasco counties, Fla., and in Valdosta, Ga., to offer emotional and spiritual care as residents recover from the powerful storm.
Florida:
A caring embrace can go a long way. Chaplains are there to remind residents they can trust in Jesus Christ, who is waiting to welcome us with open arms and
give us peace.
Florida:
Signs from a local church in Perry, Fla., remain standing, surrounded by downed trees, piles of brush, and flooding caused by the hurricane.
Florida:
Floridians are working in the heat and humidity to repair damaged buildings, salvage wet belongings, and remove pine and live oak trees knocked down in the storm. This man took a needed break to recount his experience to chaplains, providing opportunities for the BG-RRT to share the hope that is only found in Jesus Christ.
Georgia:
There is a still a lot of work to be done in Valdosta, Ga., a city of 55,000 residents. Hurricane Idalia’s 100 mph winds left much of the area in disarray.
Georgia:
Chaplains spent time listening to this elderly woman tell them about the storm while volunteers worked to clear a large tree from her backyard. Chaplains prayed with her and offered the
comfort, peace, and hope of Jesus Christ
.
Florida:
The Mobile Ministry Centers provide a haven for many who come to talk with chaplains after their community has been impacted by a disaster. Please pray for the people who are recovering from this hurricane, and for the chaplains as they serve them.
Florida:
God hears our prayers, loves us, and is faithful in every storm. Chaplains prayed with this couple outside their temporary residence while their own house was without power.
Georgia:
Chaplains provide a listening ear as this resident processes the events of past weeks. Are you going through challenges in life and need to talk to someone? Call the
