Some 13,800 people came to Cần Thơ Stadium to hear the Good News at the first night of the Season of Love Festival in Southern Vietnam.
More than 600 buses and vehicles brought thousands of people from across the 12 provinces of the Mekong Delta region to the Season of Love Festival.
Franklin Graham shared a Gospel message using the story of a blind man in Mark 10. “Bartimaeus was hopeless, and maybe there are many of you here tonight you feel hopeless,” he said. “You cannot save yourself. There’s only one, and that is Jesus Christ.”
Despite rain most of the day, the weather cleared Tuesday evening as the crowd gathered in Cần Thơ Stadium—an answer to the prayers of believers around the world.
People around the stadium praised God during a time of worship that was led by local and international musicians.
Josh Havens, lead singer of the Christian band The Afters, brought high-energy music to celebrate the first night of the Festival.
The Tommy Coomes Band surprised the crowd by singing their last song, My Hope, in English and Vietnamese.
Franklin Graham holds up a Vietnamese Bible and discipleship materials, which were handed out to those making decisions for Christ on Tuesday night. “We have been looking forward to this for a long time,” Graham said.
People of all ages came forward to accept Christ, and more than 40% of those responding were under the age of 19.
