February 2009: George Beverly Shea celebrates his 100th birthday. Billy Graham said, "I count him as one of my closest friends."
March 2009: Franklin Graham in Sudan. "We want to help Christians, Muslims, people of no faith - we want to help them all," he said.
March 2009: Crowds stream forward in Montevideo, Uruguay. 71,000 people attended the 3-day Festival of Hope.
April 2009: BGEA Rapid Response Team deploys to North Dakota flooding.
May 2009: Franklin Graham shares the Gospel with more than 30,000 people in Tallinn, Estonia.
July 2009: Franklin Graham dedicates a new chapel at Angola State Prison in Louisiana. The chapel serves guards and staff.
July 2009: A summer of change is underway as Rock the River Tour kicks off in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Thousands of youth and young adults turned out to hear their favorite musicians perform. Franklin Graham presented the Gospel message several times during the day-long event.
August 2009: More than 60,000 people crowded the space beneath the famous Arch in St. Louis for the second Rock the River event. "This has been a fantastic day," Franklin Graham commented.
August 2009: Just one week later, Rock the River came to the Quad Cities. One young woman commented, "Seeing the hundreds of young adults and even families accept Christ was priceless!"
August 2009: Rock the River went to Minneapolis/St. Paul to wrap up the inaugural Rock the River Tour. In all, more than 112,000 people attended the four events. "This all happened because God put a burden on my heart for young people," Franklin Graham explained.
August 2009: More than 150,000 people heard the Gospel during the Festival de Esperanza in Bogot
September 2009: BGEA's Rapid Response Team deploys following widespread flooding in Georgia. One flood victim told the volunteer chaplains, "It's just awesome what you are doing. Don't stop, because you are a valuable asset in today's world. It's so easy to give up and think that nobody cares. You all care."
October 2009: Close to 2,000 soldiers, families and community members gathered at Fort Leonard Wood to hear some great music and, most importantly, some great news.
October 2009: Franklin Graham preaches at Bethel Church of Baoding, the second largest church in China, capping off an historic visit to the eastern nation. "Coming to China is kind of like coming home," Graham said.
October 2009: Bikers with boxes swarm the Billy Graham Library, as motorcyclists from around the country bring Operation Christmas Child shoeboxes to Charlotte.
November 2009: Former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin meets with Billy and Franklin Graham. "I believe our country has been touched by God," said Palin, "because when we formed our union, leaders back then dedicated our country to God and said that we would seek His will for our great nation.
December 2009: The Billy Graham Library prepares to welcome tens of thousands of visitors during the Christmas season.
December 2009: Potentially millions of people in Thailand heard the Gospel during BGEA's My Hope event. More than 36,000 Christians from over 1,700 churches were involved in sharing the Gospel with friends, family, and neighbors.
