Unchanging Human Nature

man with head in hands

At the cross of Christ, sin reached its climax. Its most terrible display took place at Calvary. It was never blacker or more hideous. We see the human heart laid bare and its corruption fully exposed. Some people have said that man has improved since that day, that if Christ came back today, He would not be crucified but would be given a glorious reception. Christ does come to us every day in the form of Bibles that we do not read, in the form of churches that we do not attend, in the form of human need that we pass by. I am convinced that if Christ came back today, He would be crucified more quickly than He was two thousand years ago. Sin never improves. Human nature has not changed.

Listen to this sermon from the Billy Graham archives for more on sin and human nature.

Prayer for the day

Father, take away my thoughts and deeds that crucify Jesus afresh.

I believe Jesus Christ is being crucified daily untold thousands of times world wide in the hearts of man and would be crucified physically and with greater hate today. However the truth being “Every knee will bow and every tongue will confess him” Praise God for the gift of his only son.

  4. Gerry says:

We live in a fallen world , however that does not mean we have to participate in its sinful ways. In order to do the right thing you need the Full armour of God and the mighty power of Christ in your life. Without his presence you are destined for failure. Be wise ….,choose Christ.

Thank you for publishing your book called “The Journey.” Your book has been helping me through rough times and I am learning now more than ever to not only read and understand it but also put into motion in my own life. I am younger than most people that come to understanding but it only gives me more time to show my faith and to grow within it. I am currently 20 and I am employed as a cashier at Family Dollar but it is all that I need to survive and eventually I would like to do missionary work but right now my family is going through a rough time.

    1. Fred Ermanovics says:

Just said a prayer for God to guide you and also prayed for your family, Jason. God bless you.

Billy is absolutely correct . You only have to read the newspaper or listen to the news to see that this world is becoming more depraved week after week. Christians are beheaded live on video tape Etc. The good news is Christ is available for all who would ask. If you do not know him , now is the time .
