The Beginning of Jesus

Jesus did not begin in Bethlehem. The Bible says, “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” Jesus said that He existed before the foundation of the world. He was there when the moon and stars were flung out into space from the Father’s flaming fingertips. He was there when God created this planet. He has always existed. He is “from everlasting to everlasting.”

Prayer for the day

You, Lord Jesus, who have always existed, came down from heaven in love and saved me from the depths of my sin. In humble adoration I praise You, my Savior and Lord.

For years, I have admired and loved Billy Graham….not because he is a great speaker, or a wonderful husband, father, friend, and minister….but because he loves Jesus in front of the world his whole life. When I was a little girl, I recall watching a particular pageant where the question was asked, “if you could have lunch with anyone in the world, who would it be?” The contestants gave all kinds of PC answers like world leaders, or a favorite star…..my immediate response was, “I’d love to have lunch with Billy Graham…I don’t want to ask him anything because he has always been so transparent and real and present….in fact, one of my parent’s first dates was to a BG meeting in Kentucky. I would just like to talk about Jesus.

Jesus is exactly as described in Scripture. We know this is absolutely true, for there is no error in Scripture. It is 100% accurate from cover to cover. “All” Scripture is God-breathed. (Second Timothy 3:16)
