Our Basic Need

A basic need of mankind is affection. Those who “abide in Him” are objects of God’s affection and love. You cannot say that you are friendless when Christ has said, “Henceforth I call you not servants … but I have called you friends” (John 15:15). To you who lament the fact that you have been bereft of affection and love in this life, I happily commend Christ. He loved you enough to lay down His life for you. Not only that, but by His atonement upon the cross, He purchased the favor of God in your behalf, and now through Him you may be the recipient of the grace and love of God without measure.

Choose to live in God’s love today.

Prayer for the day

Thank You for Your love, Father, that no matter where I am—in whatever situation—You are there, loving me.

  4. Rosario Lewis says:

God is love. His love for us is manifested on the cross. He rightly says in John 15:15 that he calls us friends. The Bible says there is no greater love than one laying down his life for his friends and that is what JESUS did for us on the cross. He loves us not only when we are good but also He loves us the same when we are bad and sinning. Thank you Lord for this unconditional and unfailing love. Amen.

  5. max says:

I have no greater friend than the Holy Spirit. He knows my every thought, he corrects and sometime chastises me when I stray, he comforts me when I am sad and leads me on the path to eternal life. I would be totally “lost” without him.

  6. Gerry says:

It’s very puzzling to me, why anyone would not want to know the Love of God. He is not charging us for it. The price was paid, in full, at Calvary. To not experience the Love of God would be tragic on many levels. Ponder that thought and make the right choice, while there is still time.
