Be Truthful

By   •   March 2

The Bible teaches that purity of conduct includes truthfulness. The Bible teaches that we should be truthful in our representation of ourselves. With what scorn Christ denounced the hypocrisy of the scribes and Pharisees! In the Sermon on the Mount He rebuked all hypocritical giving, praying, and fasting. We should also be truthful in speaking of our past achievements in our particular vocation. God does not ask us to understate the facts-that might even be untruthfulness-but neither does He want us to overrate our achievements or our gifts, either in thought or in speech. A lie is anything contrary to the naked truth.

Prayer for the day

It is so easy, Lord, to embellish the truth. Give me Your wisdom to be completely honest in every phase of my life.

It is good to be always truthful in thoughts and words. Whether it is our testimony when we say it to someone let it be for glory of God, it is good not to exaggerate but let the Holy Spirit take control.

If you consistently tell the truth there will be no reason to wonder what you said when questioned at a later date . It’s easy to fool people but impossible to fool God

The Holy Spirit that lives in me is my conscious and guide. I pray to him many times daily when I have decisions to make or situations arise and he beats me up if I think of not telling the truth. Once we ask him into our life and start “praying or talking to him” he will be our best friend. We can talk to him anytime, anywhere. He doesn’t require bowing our head and closing our eyes. AMAZING.
