Our nation’s laws certainly give you this right (as long as you’re not endangering anyone else), and I hope our freedom of religion is never taken from us. We must never take freedom of religion for granted; many nations don’t enjoy it.
You say you want to be free to live any way you want to (and later in your letter you explain what you mean by this). But has it ever occurred to you that you aren’t really as free as you think you are? In reality you are actually a slave — a slave to your own lusts and desires. And tragically, eventually it will catch up with you, and you will find yourself paying a terrible price for your lifestyle, both in your body and your mind. The Bible’s warning is clear: “You may be sure that your sin will find you out” (Numbers 32:23).
That’s why I urge you to look at your life honestly and sincerely. Where will you be in five or ten years (if you live that long)? Where will you be in eternity? God cares about you, even if you don’t care about Him — and He doesn’t want you to waste your life.
But don’t only look at your life; look also at Jesus Christ. You are so valuable to God that Jesus was willing to give His life for you. Don’t ignore Him any longer, but by a simple prayer of faith turn your life over to Jesus Christ.
