Did Jesus ever say anything about hell? I don't believe in hell myself. I believe God is a God of love and wouldn't send anyone to hell. I think preachers who talk about hell all the time are just trying to scare people into believing in their religion.

Yes, Jesus did talk about the reality of hell — in fact, He talked about it more than any other person in the Bible. He warned, “Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather, be afraid of the One who can destroy both soul and body in hell” (Matthew 10:28).

Did He say this simply to scare us? The reality of hell should frighten us, because not one word in the Bible about hell would ever make you want to go there — not if you take it seriously. The Bible speaks of hell as a place of absolute loneliness and despair and hopelessness. It calls it a place of “darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth” (Matthew 22:13).

But Jesus didn’t talk about hell just to scare us. He talked about it instead because He wanted us to know that God has provided a way of escape! Listen: God doesn’t want you to be separated from Him forever. He loves you, and He wants you to spend eternity with Him in heaven. Unlike hell, heaven is a place of joy and peace and freedom from all the fears and pains of this world. Who wouldn’t want to go there?

Don’t gamble with your soul, and don’t turn your back on Jesus. Instead, by faith turn to Christ and commit your life to Him. He alone gives us hope — hope for today, and hope for eternity.

  1. Jennifer says:

Jesus lives us so much he made a special place to torture us forever if we don’t believe he loves us.

  2. Salvador Garcia says:

I understand what it feels like to have children turn from God. Please don’t lose hope. I write this message to give hope. My eldest daughter and son turned away from God’s way. My son became addicted to drugs as well. It was terribly painful. I cried out to God. I prayed to God to do whatever it takes to draw them closer to Him; I added, Father do it in me first. Little by little as I drew closer to God desperate for Him daily, week after week, month after month, year after year, my life has been transformed. Both of them, and their brothers and sisters as well are drawing closer and closer to God. In those years, I learned to bless their spirits, and continued praying for myself and them. My relationship with God, and others is better.

    God bless

  4. Beth Taylor says:

How do answer those that compare the Koran to the Bible. They mention God instructing that whole cities be killed (Deuteronomy) I want to tell them about Jesus loving them but they bring this up. They say we’re the same as radical islamists. Please help.👃❤

    1. BGEA says:

Beth, you may find this article helpful. It’s about sharing the Gospel with Muslims:

  5. Jackiecook says:

My son who use to say he was a Christian, was saved and baptized, got on drugs and suffered for 11yrs,went to jail, read a satanic bible and other he denounces his faith and Jesus and is so deceived. His apostasy is killing me more than the drugs.please pray With me for his salvation.

    1. Mackey says:

I pray that Jesus finds a way to get your son’s attention. Please Jesus have mercy on this man’s soul. Please find a way to bring him back into your loving arms and accept you as lord and savior because he needs you more than anything, we all do. I pray that you watch over him and lead him into your house. Heal him lord, please Jesus lord, put a yes in his heart. In the mighty name of Jesus. Amen.

    2. Carley says:

I said a prayer for your son. Keep faith. Jesus Christ doesn’t give up on people.

    3. Kristin says:

These are excellent verses to pray when you’re fighting for your family…hopefully these will help:

“Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved, you and your household.” -Acts 16:31
“I will contend with him who contends with you, and I will save your children” – Isaiah 49:25

    4. Rosita says:

When there is no hope, Jesus is our only hope. I prayed for your son that God will bring him back to Him.

    5. Ken says:

I really feel sorry for you. This is a battle that has been fought and won at the cross by our Lord Jesus Christ. All we now need to do is to pray and believe. I am with you in prayers. Please remember to share your testimony here. Your son, by the grace of God, will carry this Bible and preach the gospel. Amen. God bless you.

    6. AtheistLogic says:

Perhaps instead of “praying” for your son why don’t you actively support him emotional and try to create a better relationship. He probably started reading the satanic bible because he wanted to rebel against the doctrine imposed on him so went to the polar opposite. People tend to go to drugs when they don’t have very good social relationships, this was tested on rats and is mirrored in humans.

    7. Heidi says:

I pray that your son’s doing better. I pray that your faith has carried you thru this and that your son has found his way back to Jesus. God bless you both.

  9. Susan Van Der Merwe says:

I actually need to read more attentively! I read the statement as that which was said by Billy Graham – clearly my misunderstanding and mistake. My sincerest apologies.

    1. Debbie says:

I did too~! I was going to post this on my prayer page but I’m not because people might just read the heading and leave~! NOT a good way to introduce a good message.
