From the writings of the Rev. Billy Graham
The occult—whatever form it takes—will lead people away from God, not toward Him. Dabbling with demonic activity will entangle people with spiritual forces that are not from God but from Satan. Few people who get involved in such things believe they are inviting the devil into their thoughts, but this often happens.
The early church, concerned with sorcerers in Ephesus, turned away from them and burned their magic scrolls. “Many … who had practiced magic brought their books together and burned them in the sight of all” (Acts 19:19, NKJV).
Many are curious about the demonic world and run after these things, but they are being deluded. Young people are caught up in whatever appears to be the most bizarre. They look for truth and settle for folly. False religions and the occult are clever in reaching seekers who want to experience a rush of any kind. Believers—young and old—are to reject fascination with the occult and look to Jesus and follow Him.
The Bible says to cast down “arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ” (2 Corinthians 10:5, NKJV).
Parents, pray for your children. In the morning, prayer is the key that opens to us the treasures of God’s mercies and blessings; in the evening, it is the key that places us under His protection and safeguard.
