Pastors Recognize Need for Unity During Church Leaders Summit
On June 30, pastors and church leaders from six states attended the Church Leaders Summit in Rapid City, South Dakota. Will Graham, vice president of the
Billy Graham Evangelistic Association
, helped lead the one-day event alongside several others, including Gary Cobb, director of training for the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association, and Jack Munday, international director of the Billy Graham Rapid Response Team.
Just 30 miles southwest of Rapid City is Mt. Rushmore, a massive sculpture of four American presidents—Theodore Roosevelt, Thomas Jefferson, George Washington and Abraham Lincoln.
Although it can be difficult to feel close to others during COVID-19, reaching out is more important now than ever. "My friends, God is at work in this country right now," Will Graham said. "It’s time for us to be awake. The time is now! The harvest is now!"
Taking into account the ongoing outbreak of COVID-19, the event room was set up carefully for social distancing measures, and some chose to wear masks.
Still, pastors soaked up the Biblical truths, encouraged after facing uncertain times in their own churches.
And with the recent nationwide protests after George Floyd's death, several pastors recognized the need for forgiveness and unity, which can start within the Church.
On Thursday, Will Graham again preached the Gospel of Jesus Christ, but this time from a live broadcast in the Black Hills of South Dakota. Please pray for the nation to recognize freedom from sin only comes through faith and repentance in God.
