I wish I could promise you that all your problems will vanish if you give your life to Jesus — but I can’t, because God hasn’t promised this to us.
Don’t misunderstand me, however; some of our problems will go away when we turn our lives over to Jesus Christ. You may feel, for example, that no one cares about you or loves you. But if you do give your life to Christ. you’ll discover that God loves you — and His love is infinite. He loves all of us so much that He gave His only Son to die on the cross for our salvation. The Bible says, “How great is the love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are!” (1 John 3:1).
But not every problem will necessarily vanish. I think, for example, of King David in the Old Testament. He committed a serious sin by committing adultery in a moment of weakness. His sin led to the birth of a child — but as punishment God took that child from him. David repented and God forgave him — but he still had to live with the consequences of his sin. Often the same is true with us.
But listen: No matter what problems we face, isn’t it better to face them with God’s help, than without Him? Of course it is. Don’t let your fears, or your problems, or anything else keep you from Christ, but commit your life to Him today. The Bible says, “Now is the time of God’s favor, now is the day of salvation” (2 Corinthians 6:2).
