‘This Christmas, Don’t Miss Jesus’
Two hundred women came to the
Billy Graham Library
on November 22 for the Library's seventh annual Ladies Night Out. Will Graham's wife, Kendra Graham, was the guest speaker.
Standing in the Library lobby, recently decorated for Christmas, Kendra spoke about the real meaning behind the holiday: God's love coming down to us in the person of Jesus Christ.
Kendra gave women in the audience a behind-the-scenes look at life several years ago, as her husband was launching his global ministry. While she was behind him all the way, she said, it was rough leaving her community in Raleigh, North Carolina, for mountain life four hours away in Asheville—and with three small children in tow. "Despair threatened to literally suffocate me. ... I literally could not get out of bed some days," she shared.
"I had some serious questions about who God was to me," Kendra continued about that time in her life. She felt forgotten, she said, but God reminded her that she is seen and loved—so much that He sent Jesus to save her.

He came to save you, too.
The Dickens Carolers provided musical entertainment for the evening.
Jesus Christ came "at a messy time ... to messy people," Kendra said about that first Christmas. "This Christmas, don't miss Jesus," she told the women. His birth is "still good news of great joy."
Ladies Night Out also gave attendees a chance to do some early Christmas shopping in the Library bookstore.
Experience the true meaning of Christmas at the Billy Graham Library in Charlotte, North Carolina, December 2-23.
