“I once was lost … but now, I’m pro-life!”
—Abby Johnson
Abby Johnson was one of the youngest Planned Parenthood clinic directors in the United States. She became a spokesperson for the organization and fought for legislation to support the cause. She even had two abortions of her own.
It wasn’t until September 2009, when she was asked to assist in aborting a 13-week-old baby, that she knew she had to resign. Now a pro-life activist, Abby has helped more than 400 workers leave the abortion industry.
Ten years later, Abby’s story is being told in the Pure Flix film Unplanned.
“I want to encourage everyone to go see Unplanned,” Franklin Graham said recently after hosting a conversation with Unplanned actress Ashley Bratcher, who portrays Abby in the film.

Franklin also called on churches to show the movie and share the love of Christ. “I would encourage you to get involved in this battle. To go to the fence and stand at the fence to pray,” he said, referencing a scene in the movie outside an abortion clinic.
“Thank you to Pure Flix for bringing this important message to the world,” Franklin Graham posted on Facebook.
The movie was released March 29 and over the past couple of weeks has continued surpassing many box office expectations. The drama is rated R for “disturbing/bloody images” as it reveals the reality of abortion.
More than 638,000 legal abortions were performed in the U.S. in 2015, according to the most recent data available from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Franklin Graham invited those who have already seen the film to share their thoughts on his Instagram page. Many responded, calling it “heartbreaking” and “powerful.” One woman said it “enlightened me about the abortion industry.” Another Instagram user said it “moved me to tears and to prayer.”
