Will Graham Urges Thai Believers to Continue Spreading the Good News
Will Graham’s recent evangelistic tour in southern Thailand included worshipful music, testimonies and the
Gospel message
.
Approximately 15,400 people across the region of Thailand heard the Gospel at December's Andaman Celebration of Love in Phuket and Surat Thani.
Many of those who attended the evangelistic events in the mostly Buddhist country heard the
Good News of Jesus Christ
for the first time.
On the final night of the three-day Celebration in Phuket, Thailand, Will Graham recognized the Christmas season by sharing a message from Luke 2—which tells the story of the Messiah’s birth.
For the second evening in a row, the Korean hip-hop group HISPOP sang and danced for Jesus—and many people in the audience joined them.
“Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the earth. Break forth into joyous song and sing praises.” —Psalm 98:4
The small, but passionate group of believers in southern Thailand—who prayerfully anticipated this evangelistic event for years—were encouraged to see people of many generations in attendance.
“No one else may know what’s going on in your life tonight. But the One I just sang to—He knows your every need,” Mark Christian said while leading those at the Celebration in songs of praise to God. Mark often takes the stage before Will Graham comes up to preach the Gospel.
Surrendering to God takes courage and confidence in a nation where Christians only make up about one percent of the population.
On Sunday, Will Graham told the Thai people about the miraculous birth of Jesus, the undeserved gift of salvation and an unconditionally loving God.
The effect of the three-day evangelistic event on the island of Phuket was twofold: introducing non-believers to the Gospel and encouraging local believers to continue spreading the Good News in their country.
“I say to you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents.” —Luke 15:10
Those coming forward to put their faith and trust in Jesus Sunday night filled the area in front of the stage, where Will Graham gave the invitation. “The angels are having one big party up in heaven,” Will said after leading the group in prayer.
A total of nearly 1,000 people responded to the Gospel message by coming forward to make a public
decision for Christ
during the multi-city Andaman Celebration of Love.
Even as the Celebration of Love comes to an end, please continue to keep the people of Thailand in your prayers. Join us in praying for continued unity among the local church, for the discipleship of new believers and for the Gospel to continue to spread across the country.
