PHOTOS: Tenth Annual Teddy Bear Tea
The 10th Annual Teddy Bear Tea was held on Dec. 2, 2017 at the
Billy Graham Library
with the theme "A Campy Christmas." The theme was inspired by Camp Little Piney Cove, Billy and Ruth Graham's home in Montreat, North Carolina.
More than 200 children enjoyed this family favorite, sold-out event. Parents joined in the festivities as well.
Each child received a BGEA-produced
Jesus Loves Me
booklet
to take home and read with their parents.
The children also received a plush fox as this year's special stuffed animal. A Girl Scout troop attended the event and loved the camping theme, saying they plan to use it themselves as a way to share the Gospel.
The children enjoyed spending time with their friends and making new ones during the tea.
The Christmas story was told around the campfire, and Christmas carols were sung, such as "Silent Night" and "Joy to the World.”
Plates of campfire-themed goodies were served, including s'more cupcakes, Christmas cookies and Hershey kiss "acorns."
Library employee Sonya Johnson encouraged the children to imagine they were going camping in the chilly mountains.
Sweet little girls dressed in their Christmas-best fellowshipped around the beautifully decorated Christmas tree.
The children excitedly held up their new plush foxes.
Among all the busyness, the children were led in prayer and reminded of the true meaning of Christmas.
Many families stayed after the tea to enjoy carriage rides and other Christmas activities at the Library. Come and join us for
Christmas at the Library
through Dec. 23.
