Chaplains Ministering in South Carolina After Hurricane Matthew
Crisis-trained chaplains with the
Billy Graham Rapid Response Team
are offering emotional and spiritual care alongside the efforts of Samaritan's Purse in the South Carolina cities of Bluffton and Hilton Head.
Chaplains also offer a ministry of presence to Samaritan's Purse volunteers, some who are sacrificially giving their time to help their neighbors.
The wind and rain from Hurricane Matthew caused some flooding in South Carolina, but Bluffton and Hilton Head residents experienced many downed trees.
Chaplains are visiting with homeowners and offering prayer in these two coastal communities.
The Billy Graham Rapid Response Team comes alongside sister ministry Samaritan's Purse and homeowners to offer a time of prayer.
Chaplains offer a listening ear to homeowners, who many times aren't just working through the recent effects of Hurricane Matthew, but through personal storms as well.
Listening as one homeowner shares his story.
“Pray that the love of the Lord and the compassion of the Lord be felt by these people, that His presence comfort them and lead them into a relationship with Him personally,” chaplain Kate Poll said.
