Franklin Graham Welcomed to Vietnam Ahead of Festival in Cần Thơ

Franklin Graham was honored to be welcomed to Vietnam on Monday by First Deputy Prime Minister Dr. Nguyễn Hòa Bình and a distinguished delegation that included the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Government Committee for Religious Affairs.

They discussed Vietnam’s diversity of religions and support for religious freedom at the government’s offices in Hanoi. Rev. Graham was especially thankful to receive the gift of a Bible that had been translated into one of Vietnam’s tribal languages in the central highlands.

“I have been impressed by the growth and development of Vietnam, and I am thankful for the advances in religious freedom that I have experienced in this great country. I am grateful to have been invited to return and preach in Vietnam a third time,” said Franklin Graham, president and CEO of the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association, who preached in Ho Chi Minh City in March 2023 and in Hanoi in December 2017.

“This week I am looking forward to preaching in the Mekong Delta for the first time, where we are working with more than 215 evangelical churches for the Season of Love Festival. This isn’t an event for Christians alone—it’s a festival for all of Vietnam. I’m inviting everyone to attend these free events where there will be live music and I will share a message of God’s love for the people of this incredible country.”

This will be a historic event—the first of its kind in the Mekong Delta. Never before have churches from Cần Thơ and all 13 provinces come together and worked alongside each other like this to share a life-changing message of hope.

The events at Cần Thơ Stadium will begin with live music at 5:30 p.m. (5:30 a.m. ET) on Tuesday, December 3, and Wednesday, December 4. Watch live.
