Thank you for your testimony; I’m very thankful for what Christ has already done for you. God is still in the business of changing lives — and your letter is a powerful witness to that truth. The Bible says, “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!” (2 Corinthians 5:17).
Elsewhere in your letter, you talk about the man who led you to Christ, and you mention that the thing that impressed you most about him was his life, and especially his love for others. And that’s probably how your family and friends will come to see that what’s happened to you is real. In other words, they may doubt what you say, but they can’t argue with a changed life. Jesus said, “Let your light so shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven” (Matthew 5:16).
However, let me add a word of warning to you as a new believer. Right now, God has given you victory over your past, and Satan (so to speak) is on the run. But Satan never gives up on us, and he’ll do everything he can to trip up new believers. And when that happens, others mock and say Christ isn’t real.
Don’t let this happen to you. Instead, spend time in God’s Word and in prayer every day. In addition, surround yourself with other believers, who can encourage you and help you grow closer to Christ.
