Through Christmas Day, “Franklin Graham’s Special Christmas with Greta Van Susteren” will air on Newsmax following Van Susteren’s conversation with the evangelist during a recent trip to the Billy Graham Library.
In this one-hour special, Franklin Graham discusses the meaning of Christmas as he sits down with Van Susteren inside the Library near where his father, Billy Graham, grew up in Charlotte, North Carolina.

“What makes Christmas special?” Van Susteren asks.
“We are separated from God because of sin,” Franklin Graham answers, adding that sin keeps us away from our Creator. “Christmas is about God coming in person and becoming flesh to dwell among men, to identify with mankind.” And ultimately, he adds, to pay the price of our sins on the cross.
That’s why we give gifts at Christmastime, he continues, “because God gave. He gave Himself for our sins.”
The Christmas special highlights the Billy Graham Library’s annual Christmas at the Library event, a family-friendly celebration focused on the birth of Jesus Christ. So far this year, thousands have come to the Library to experience a live nativity, carolers, children’s storytime, and carriage rides.
Everyone who visits—not just at Christmas but any time of year—can take the free Journey of Faith tour which tells the story of how God guided Billy Graham’s life from his humble upbringing on a dairy farm to a worldwide evangelist.
That Gospel legacy is carried on today through the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association which uses the internet, TV, radio, in-person events, and every means available to share Good News with a world in need of hope.
