Q:

A friend of mine talks a lot about being a born-again Christian. I'm not sure exactly what she means. What is your definition of a born-again Christian?

A:

A born-again Christian is someone who has repented of their sins and turned to Christ for their salvation, and as a result has become part of God’s family forever. All this takes place as God’s Spirit works in our lives.

You see, by nature we aren’t members of God’s family, and we don’t have any right to inherit eternal life. The reason is because of our sin. We have rebelled against God, and because of that, the Bible says, we are “separated from the life of God … due to the hardening of (our) hearts” (Ephesians 4:18). No, you may not see yourself as a bad person (and you probably aren’t)—but in God’s eyes even one sin is enough to keep you out of heaven.

But Jesus Christ came to save us and to make us part of His family forever! He did this by dying for our sins on the cross and by conquering death through His resurrection. You see, as a human being you were born into a family—and nothing can ever change that. But when we come to Christ we are spiritually reborn into another family—the family of God. The Bible says to Christ’s followers, “You have been born again … through the living and enduring word of God” (1 Peter 1:23).

My prayer is that you too may be born again and become part of God’s family. By a simple prayer of faith, tell God that you know you are a sinner, and you are sorry for your sins. Then ask Christ to come into your life and save you. When you do, God will come to live within you by His Spirit, and you will be born again.

Right before John 3:16, Jesus said to Nicodemus “As Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness even so must the Son of Man be lifted up, that whosoever believeth in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life.
Read the account in Nunbers 21 where those who had been bitten by a deadly snake had only one way to be saved from certain death and that was to look at the snake on a pole. We have been bitten by deadly sin and the only way to escape eternal death is to look up to Jesus who carried away all your sins.

    Born again (Christianity)

“New Birth” redirects here. For other uses, see New Birth (disambiguation). In Christianity, to be born again is to undergo a “spiritual rebirth” (regeneration) of the human soul or spirit from the Holy Spirit, contrasted with the physical birth everyone experiences. The origin of the term “born again” is the New Testament: “Jesus replied, ‘Very truly I tell you, no one can see the kingdom of God without being born again.’”[Jn 3:3… It is a term associated with salvation in Christianity. Individuals who profess to be born again often state that they have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

I understand that Jesus said ‘Very truly I tell you, no one can see the kingdom of God without being born again.’”[Jn 3:3… However that was when Jesus was showing us the way, that way is to be baptised and to accept that Jesus is the son of God and our saviour. It doesn’t say not to baptise children or babies, it also doesn’t mention the age at all. Disciples baptised babies and they were following Jesus’s instructions. If anyone believes in Christ at any age, they have a personal relationship. Not just Born again Christians. That’s the wonder of Faith

“Born agian” to me, is a term that we use to illustrate the transformation that one under goes after they discover the truth of Christ, and accept him as that truth. The shedding of the old self and the awakening of an entirely new creature born in love. At which point you desire a closer understanding of that event cloaked in absolute Joy. But to each their own
