One of the Bible’s greatest truths is that God loves us, and we are never outside the bounds of His care and concern. That is why the psalmist could write, “My times are in your hands” (Psalm 31:15).
It’s natural to be concerned when we face uncertainty–and it’s not necessarily wrong, because God made us so we’d be afraid of things that might harm us. But when fear overpowers or controls us, then it becomes wrong, because it means we aren’t trusting God the way we should. Instead of believing we are in His hands and He knows what’s best for us, we allow worry and anxiety to burden us. The Bible rightly says, “An anxious heart weighs a man down” (Proverbs 12:25).
Begin by turning to Christ and asking Him to come into your heart and life, if you have never done so. Then tell God honestly about your worries, and ask Him to help you take this burden of worry and put it on His shoulders. The Bible says, “Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you” (1 Peter 5:7).
Once you realize how much God loves you, your life will never be the same. He loves you so much that He was willing to send His only Son into the world to die for you. Take time every morning to thank God for the gift of a new day, and ask Him to help you live it for His glory.
