I would have to agree with your mother; after all, how will you know whether or not this person has the ability to tell the future, until the future actually arrives? Then it will be too late to change any decisions you made based on her predictions.
But I also have another (and deeper) concern about what you are doing. The Bible tells us very clearly not to have anything to do with occult activity of any type–and that includes fortunetelling. The Bible says, “Let no one be found among you … who practices divination or sorcery, interprets omens, engages in witchcraft, or casts spells, or who is a medium or spiritist or who consults the dead” (Deuteronomy 18:10-11).
Why is this? At best such activities are merely fraudulent and based on guesswork (in which case you are throwing your money away with this person). But at worst, someone who becomes involved in such activities is in league with spiritual powers that are not from God, but from Satan. Never forget: Satan is never our friend.
I urge you not to go down this path any longer, but to turn to the one true God by giving your life to His Son, Jesus Christ. Then put your future into His hands, and trust Him to guide you according to His perfect will.
