North East Scotland Celebration of Hope: Day Two and Three
All smiles and ready for a great time with God. The
North East Scotland Celebration of Hope
with Will Graham continues this weekend.
Billy Graham first used "Live Link" locations to share the Gospel remotely during his 1989 London Crusade. Now, Will Graham is doing the same with this week's Celebration in Peterhead.
Praying for Scotland's future.
The unique setup at Peterhead Academy where the event is located has meant an intimate setting for God's Word to go forth.
Many churches and businesses around Peterhead have been supportive of the Celebration, filling church lawns, business windows and bus stop shelters with posters and banners announcing the event. Although there are many Christians in town, some locals say there’s been a fear of evangelism—something they hope to see change.
On Friday—youth night—a line started forming more than an hour and a half before the event started.
Will encouraged new believers Friday to read a small booklet they received about growing in their faith. He also urged them to go to church Sunday and to start reading the Bible. “It’s not a book of do’s and don’ts. It’s a book of life,” he said.
The young crowd listened intently as Will Graham talked. He told a story of some Peterhead locals gifting him his own kilt and how appreciative he was. “All I could do was receive it. My friends, that’s all you can do with Jesus,” Will said about the
free gift of salvation
.
So many young people try to be different to say they’re one of a kind, Will Graham told a young audience Friday, but, “You’re special already. …
You're handmade by God
.
Hands lifted in worship before Will Graham takes the stage.
Little Sophie, 9, was first to walk forward after the invitation to accept Christ, and she was very happy about her decision.
Peterhead has been preparing for several months for the Celebration of Hope. Local churches and volunteers have been praying for one main thing: revival in their city and country.
With nothing else to write on, this young boy used the stage as his clipboard to fill out his information and be connected with a local church.
A young counselor takes time to pray with a boy who walked forward during youth night on Friday.
Yay for Jesus!
