Q: What did Billy Graham do with a second chance?

A: He shared the Gospel.

Billy Graham has often met with presidents and other influential leaders throughout his more than 70 years of ministry. Still the evangelist says, “I never go to see important people—or anyone else—without having the deep realization that I am—first and foremost—an ambassador of the King of kings and Lord of lords.

“From the moment I enter the room, I am thinking about how I can get the conversation around to the Gospel,” he said.

In his autobiography, Just As I Am, Billy Graham recalls meeting with an influential businessman and not sharing the Good News. “Perhaps he intimidated me, or perhaps I was concerned that I would alienate him if I appeared to be too religious,” he said.

Disappointed in himself, Billy Graham went back to his hotel room, fell on his knees and asked God to forgive him. Knowing he’d probably never see this man again, he begged God for a second chance.

A couple of weeks later, the businessman asked to see him. As they talked, Billy Graham took the opportunity to share the Good News, and resolved to never miss another opportunity to do so.
