5 Ways God Has Displayed His Love for You

Valentine’s Day is a holiday synonymous with love.

But ironically, it can instead be a reminder of loneliness, heartbreak, strained relationships, or feeling unwanted.

While this Valentine’s Day may not be what you expected or hoped for, there is Someone who loves and cares for you deeply.

If you’re feeling down, consider these five ways the Heavenly Father loves you.

1. God formed you in your mother’s womb:

God gave you life. You are not here by mistake. He has known you since before you were born.

“For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother’s womb.” —Psalm 139:13

2. God has a purpose for your life.

Life can be a confusing and difficult at times, but God sees every moment. He knows every tear you cry, each mistake you make, and every moment of joy you experience.

He created you for a reason and if you surrender your life to Him in repentance and faith, He promises to work everything together for your good—to accomplish His perfect plan.

“The Lord will fulfill his purpose for me; your steadfast love, O Lord, endures forever. Do not forsake the work of your hands.”
—Psalm 138:8

3. God sent His one and only Son, Jesus Christ, to die for your sins.

God wants a relationship with you. But when you do things that are displeasing to Him—sin—it separates you from a holy God. That’s why He sent His Son, Jesus, into the world. Jesus, who was perfectly both God and man, closed that gap of separation by dying on a cross for your sins.

This means you can experience forgiveness and a restored relationship with your Heavenly Father.

“But God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” —Romans 5:8

4. God offers you both discipline and grace.

God wants us to have an abundant life, so He teaches us His truth through His Word. When we stumble, there are consequences for our actions.

Yet, God also offers His grace, meaning that when we are remorseful, we get His unending love and forgiveness.

“For the moment all discipline seems painful rather than pleasant, but later it yields the peaceful fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it.” —Hebrews 12:11

5. God is preparing a place for you in Heaven.

He wants us to be with Him.

That’s why His Son, Jesus Christ, promised that all who repent of their sins and believe in Him will one day be reunited with God. In Heaven, there will be no more pain, sorrow, or death, just joy and love from the Heavenly Father.

“And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, that where I am you may be also.”
—John 14:3
