Will Graham, Grandson of Evangelist Billy Graham, to Announce Multi-Day Outreach in Falkirk

December 8, 2017

Will Graham will preach in Johnson City, Tennessee, April 27-29.

CHARLOTTE, N.C., Dec. 8, 2017—In January, the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association (BGEA) will announce that evangelist Will Graham, the grandson of internationally-known evangelist Billy Graham, will visit Falkirk to host the Central Scotland Will Graham Celebration of Hope.

The official announcement will take place at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, 16 January, 2018, at Grangemouth Town Hall. At the announcement, Will Graham, along with area Christian leaders and representatives of the BGEA, will share the vision for the upcoming Central Scotland Will Graham Celebration of Hope. It is free to attend the announcement event, but reservations are required at https://www.celebrationofhope.uk/event-rsvp.

“Several of my ancestors came to the United States from Scotland, so it’s in my history and my heritage”, said Graham, who is returning to Scotland following a successful outreach in Peterhead in 2016. “I look forward to sharing the hope that can be found in a relationship with Jesus; hope not just for today, but for eternity”.

The Central Scotland Will Graham Celebration of Hope will take place 15-17 June 2018, at Falkirk Stadium. The free, family-friendly event will feature inspiring messages from Graham and live concerts from Christian musical artists.

Will Graham’s grandfather, Billy Graham, held several outreaches in Scotland over the course of his decades-long ministry. In 1955, shortly after his pivotal 1954 campaign in London, the elder Graham spent more than a month in Glasgow, and followed that with a tour of Scottish cities. He returned to Glasgow in 1961 for a one-day event. His final campaign on Scottish soil came in 1991, when he held multi-day outreaches in Edinburgh, Aberdeen and Glasgow. All told, more than 3 million people heard Billy Graham preach in Scotland.

Will Graham’s father, Franklin Graham – who is president and CEO of the BGEA and international humanitarian relief organisation Samaritan’s Purse – has held one outreach in Scotland, which took place in Perth in 1999.

“One of the exciting things about the Central Scotland Will Graham Celebration of Hope is the ongoing impact dating back decades”, said Gary Cobb, who is helping to oversee the Celebration’s planning and preparation on behalf of the BGEA. “Will’s grandfather and father were both warmly received in Scotland as they pointed people towards Jesus. Will is the next generation of Grahams sharing the same hope and peace to a new generation of Scots”.

The Central Scotland Will Graham Celebration of Hope is one of several evangelistic outreaches for Will Graham in 2018. He will also hold multi-day outreaches in the United States, Canada, Australia and Thailand.
