CHARLOTTE, N.C., May 8, 2014 — The Billy Graham Evangelistic Association welcomes Bill Maier – morning co-host on KSBJ/Houston and host of a Saturday talk program for the Faith Radio Network – as the host of the “Peace with God” radio program. Syndicated on more than 1,200 radio stations across the U.S. as well as Sirius/XM, “Peace with God” is a weekly 26-minute program featuring a Gospel message from Billy Graham, Franklin Graham or Will Graham. It launched May 4.
“It’s truly an honor to host the new ‘Peace with God’ broadcast. In a day in which so many people are lonely, hurting and searching for answers, there is nothing more important than sharing the hope that can only be found in a relationship with Jesus Christ,” said Maier. “I still recall how exciting it was to attend my first Billy Graham Crusade as an 18-year-old college student in San Diego, and I’m humbled that the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association would ask me to play a part in this program.”
Prior to joining KSBJ in 2012, Maier worked for Focus on the Family, serving as host of their “Family Minute” and “Weekend Magazine” programs and as Dr. James Dobson’s fill-in on Focus on the Family’s weekday program. Maier holds a doctorate in clinical psychology from Rosemead School of Psychology at Biola University.
During the 1980s and 1990s, Maier was a leading morning air personality in Los Angeles and co-hosted the syndicated “National Music Survey.” He left that career in 1992 to pursue the call to enter graduate school, eventually working with low-income children and families at a Los Angeles County community mental health clinic.
Maier and his wife, Lisa, have three children and live in the Houston area.
