Answer
It seems like every few months our pastor preaches on stewardship (which is a polite way of making us feel guilty because we don't give more money to the church). Frankly, I get tired of it, and so do lots of other people. Should someone tell him, or should we just suffer in silence?
Answer
They opened a casino near us about three years ago, and I've lost so much money there and gotten so far into debt that I'll never recover. But in spite of this, I just can't stop going. I don't have a question, but maybe someone will learn from my experience.
Answer
About this time of year, it seems like my mailbox is filled with appeals for money from charities and other organizations. How can I know which ones are legitimate and really need my money? I don't have a lot to give but I don't want to see it go to waste.
Answer
The hard economic times haven't hit me like they have most people, but I'm getting tired of churches and organizations begging me for money because they say their income is way down. After all, I've got to think of my own future in case things get worse. Am I just being selfish?
Answer
So far, my husband and I have managed to keep our jobs, but with the economy the way it is we've really cut back on our spending for fear we'll have to live off our savings some day. As part of this, we've almost stopped giving to our church and the charities we've supported. Are we wrong?

Giving 101: Does God Need My Money?
Answer
My cousin won a fair amount of money in the lottery the other day and says he thinks God must have given it to him.
Answer
My husband and I gave some money to a Christian orphanage in another country that sent us a very heartbreaking appeal in the mail. But now we've learned it's all a fraud, and the people behind it were just getting money for themselves. How could they do something like this?
Answer
My husband has been out of work for 10 months now, and it's been the hardest time of our lives. I'm not even sure our marriage is going to survive. It's not just the lack of money, but his foul moods and even his belief that God has turned His back on us. How can we get through this?
Answer
We moved last year and are attending a new church, but I'm afraid the pastor has turned us off because he talks about money so much. I know they have a lot of debt on their building and need money, but shouldn't he stop focusing on this so much? Or should we just change churches?
Answer
How much money does God expect us to give to our church? We've been going through some hard times recently and aren't giving as much as we used to, but we don't want to risk doing something wrong.
Answer
We've had a lot of financial problems in the last year, and the worst part about it is that it's tearing our marriage apart. No matter what we talk about, it ends up in an argument about money and what we've done wrong. Maybe you have some suggestions on how we can get out of this, because I sure want to.
