By   •   February 23, 2016

On the morning of Feb. 23, an estimated 2,500 gathered at the Huai'an Christian Church to celebrate the ministry of Dr. Nelson Bell, father of Ruth Bell Graham, who was born in Huai’an. Dr. Bell began his work of ministry through medicine in Love and Mercy Hospital in Qingjiangpu, Jiangsu Province, some 300 miles north of Shanghai.

Will Graham delivers a message of hope, continuing the legacy of ministry his great-grandfather set forth in this country so well loved by the Bell and Graham families.

This was one the worshipful spirits in attendance as the 100th anniversary of Dr. Nelson Bell's ministry was commemorated.

It was refreshing to see all ages in attendance to celebrate Dr. Bell's ministry, which has impacted multiple generations.

Denver and the Mile High Orchestra led lively worship music at the Huai'an Christian Church. “It’s completely outside the box, but it goes over really well,” said Gary Lundstrom, international vice president of BGEA. “They have no idea what hit them. But within five minutes they are clapping and moving around. It’s a lot of fun to watch.”

Some people could not contain their excitement during the musical portion of the service. They needed to stand and move around.

Roy Graham, great-grandson of Dr. Bell (and Will Graham's younger brother) came along to participate in the ceremony.

The joy in the room was evident as 100 years of God's faithfulness was celebrated.

Many people traveled by bike to the Huai'an Christian Church for the celebration.
