Birmingham Youth on Fire for Christ
The second night of the Greater Birmingham Festival of Hope was geared toward youth, and this boy couldn't have been happier to be there.
Franklin Graham preached out of Daniel chapter 5 about King Belshazzar and how he dishonored God. It's important, he said, to acknowledge God's power in your life.
Dae-Lee, a rapper out of Charlotte, North Carolina, shared with the Alabama crowd the value of reading God's Word and letting God speak to you. He spoke to the crowd through a few of his own raps, including one about being made in God's image.
Hundreds of people responded to the Gospel and quickly paired up with trained counselors who encouraged them and helped answer their questions about God.
"You were made for a purpose," Lacey told the crowd. Lacey sang and later shared the story of how she went from being a suicidal atheist who hated Christians to completely overwhelmed by God's love for her.
More than 300 people decided Saturday to give their lives to Christ, including many children.

Rapper Flame got the crowd jumping early in the evening.
Some of the trained counselors were around the same age as those who came forward to accept Christ.

Crowding the stage to see the Newsboys. Many shouted "God's Not Dead!" hoping the band would sing one of their most popular songs.
Seeing people respond to the Gospel never gets old. As people made their way forward, those who stayed back clapped and cheered, overjoyed to see people in their city make the most important decision of their lives.
Franklin Graham warned the crowd not to ignore their sin, but to confront it and enjoy the freedom of God's forgiveness through repentance.
Flame shared part of his testimony with the crowd, making sure they knew the importance of Christ in his life and that He can have the same impact in their lives.

Counselors will follow up with those they counseled to encourage them in their faith and help them get involved in a church.

People couldn't wait to see the Newsboys and sing along to some of their songs like "We Believe" and "He Reigns."
