Billy Graham Rapid Response Team (RRT) chaplains are ministering in Fremont, Nebraska, after devastating floods submerged much of the area last week. Less than 40 miles west of Omaha, the city was one of the hardest hit regions of record-breaking flooding in the Midwest following heavy rains and snow melt. The floodwaters resulted in the deaths of three people, and damaged thousands of homes.
Just one home ruined by widespread flooding. Please pray for all those who have nowhere to go home to. Pray that God will give them strength to face the days ahead and surround them with others who can encourage them each day.
Billy Graham chaplains gather in prayer inside the Mobile Ministry Center (MMC), a vehicle that serves as their base of operations. It's also regarded as a safe haven for the community to come to for comfort during deployments.
Travelers take in the overflowing Missouri River near Platteview, Nebraska, as part of the Missouri River covers highways and surrounding farmland. It's estimated that 2,000 homes in Nebraska and another 1,200 in Iowa were impacted by the disaster.
Weather has the power to make communities unrecognizable and turn people's lives upside down. Our God is stronger still and can help those affected through the difficulties, one day at a time.
Horses that were being boarded in Inglewood, Nebraska, were moved to higher ground in Fremont, Nebraska. The flooding followed days of record-setting snow and rain that swept through the Midwest.
Talking to God in a heartfelt prayer.
While many roads have opened over the past few days, some roadways are severely damaged or washed out from the floodwaters.
As water continues to recede, the cleanup process begins. Crisis-trained chaplain Al New prays with a homeowner affected by the flood and several Samaritan's Purse volunteers. Together, Billy Graham chaplains and Samaritan's Purse help meet people's emotional, spiritual and physical needs in the wake of a natural disaster.
Gabe Schmidt, owner of Liquid Trucking, back right, travels by air boat as he and a team survey damage from the floodwaters of the Platte River in Plattsmouth, Nebraska.
Please continue to pray for all those affected by floodwaters throughout the Midwest. Give to help chaplains share the hope of Christ.
