The Finished Work

By   •   December 18   •   Topics:

A person is saved by trusting in the finished work of Christ on the cross, and not by bodily sensations and religious ecstasy. But you will say, “What about feeling? Is there no place in saving faith for feeling?” Certainly, there is room for feeling in saving faith. But we are not saved by it. Whatever feeling there may be is the result of saving faith, but feeling never saved a single soul. Love is feeling. Joy is feeling. Inward peace is feeling. Love for others is a feeling. Concern for the lost is a feeling. But these feelings are not conversion. The one experience that you can look for and expect is the experience of believing in Christ.

Find peace with God today.

Prayer for the day

Thank You, Lord, for Your gift of redemption, which does not fluctuate like my feelings.

  1. Rosario Lewis says:

Yes, difference between feeling after being saved. But saved is faith in Christ. Repenting and turning to Christ asking forgiveness and making him the Lord and saviour of our life and believing in his death and resurrection and in his victory over death and sin and evil forces. This is saved then we get the feelings like peace, Joy, confidence and love, etc.
    Glory to God. Amen

Believing I am saved and belong to Christ Jesus bring me these feelings of Joy, peace and concern (Love)for my fellow man. Without faith I could not experience these feelings.

The Bible does not say that if you’re good enough you will be saved. Or if you contribute enough money to a good cause. Or if you help enough people . While these are all good attributes , the only way to be saved is by personally accepting Christ as your Lord and Savior. There are no shortcuts.
