Meditate on Scripture

reading Bible

Many of the difficulties we experience as Christians can be traced to a lack of Bible study and reading. We should not be content to skim through a chapter merely to satisfy our conscience. Hide the Word of God in your heart! A little portion well digested is of greater value to the soul than a lengthy portion scanned hurriedly. Do not be discouraged because you cannot understand it all. Go on reading. As you read, the Holy Spirit will enlighten the passages for you. Reading the Bible has a purifying effect upon the heart and mind.

Prayer for the day

Let the enlightenment of the riches of Your Word sink deep within my soul, Lord.

I read the bible everyday and I finish the bible but steal do.t understand and I started over to read it again

    1. Max says:

Talisha. Try reading slowly one verse at a time until you understand it. There is a free Bible study program online (ESWORD) that has many commentaries to help you understand each verse. Type ESWORD on your browser and download the program and the tutorial. Pray for your Holy Spirit to expand your mind. One verse understood is better than reading through a complete chapter.

  7. Gerry says:

When life is feeling difficult find a quiet place and read a portion of Gods Word. Ask the Holy Spirit to open your mind to the message.

  9. SandyBB says:

The Bible is the living breathing word of God. The more I immerse myself in His word, the closer I feel to God. I cannot explain with words, the feeling of connectedness I get from reading both the Old and New Testaments. It all seems so real and is if I am in the middle of the story. I can feel the stories. I feel as if I am a part of history. And I realize that I am a part of His Story – yesterday, today, and tomorrow. All praise, honor and glory be to God.

    1. Max says:

Amen Sandy. I do the same.

  10. Joyce Paul says:
