Q:

When Jesus comes again, will it be like the first time, when only a few people understood who He was? Or will everyone know that He is the divine Son of God? I've always been curious about this.

A:

Jesus came the first time in obscurity; when He comes again, however, He will come in glory. The Bible says, “Look, he is coming with the clouds, and every eye will see him” (Revelation 1:7).

In other words, Christ’s second coming won’t be hidden or secret—and the reason is because He will come to reign over all the earth as “King of kings and Lord of lords” (1 Timothy 6:15). History as we know it will come to an end, and a new day will dawn—a time of perfect righteousness and peace. The Bible says, “When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, he will sit on his throne in heavenly glory” (Matthew 25:31).

No, I can’t fully imagine what that will be like—but I look forward to that day! In the midst of the world’s confusion and suffering, we can have hope because of Christ. He gives us hope for life right now, and He gives us hope for the future. Do you know Him, and are you trusting Him alone for your salvation? If you have never done so, open your heart to Jesus today.

Then live each day as if Christ were coming tomorrow! We never know how much time we have—nor do we need to know. All we need to know is that we are called to be faithful—faithful in living for Christ and faithful in witnessing for Him. Make this your goal, as you wait for “the glorious appearing of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ” (Titus 2:13).
