What can I do to be sure my loved ones will be saved?

We are glad to know that you have a real burden and concern for your loved ones. God has laid this burden upon your heart, and He wants to work in their hearts and lives in response to your prayers.

God desires that all come to the place of repentance and salvation through faith in Jesus Christ. The Bible tells us that the Lord is “not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance” (2 Peter 3:9).

The best thing you can do for your loved ones is to pray earnestly. We have the assurance of God’s Word that “the earnest prayer of a righteous person has great power and produces wonderful results” (James 5:16, NLT).

It is the ministry of the Holy Spirit to convict of sin, to show the possibility of being made right in God’s sight, and to warn of the danger of neglecting salvation (see John 16:7-11). The Holy Spirit will be faithful to do His work in response to believing prayer, seeking out those for whom the Lord has burdened someone to pray.

Pray specifically that the Holy Spirit will give you the opportunity to share the message of salvation with your loved ones, or will direct someone else to them. The Lord is able to do this as shown in Acts 8:26-39 and 9:10-18.

It is of great importance, however, that you permit the life and love of our Lord Jesus Christ to be seen in you. This in itself will be a tremendous testimony to unsaved loved ones and friends, and will prepare the way for a presentation of the Gospel. Jesus said, “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven” (Matthew 5:16, NKJV).

  1. Jean says:

I pray for my son who is a recovering addict and alcoholic. I pray for satan’s hands to be tied and stay away from my son. I pray that my son will commit his life to Jesus because it is only then that he will fully understand what love and peace truly is. We love you Lord, please hear my desperate prayers.

  2. Halley says:

I pray that my dad seeks the Lord in everything he does. I pray he goes to the doctor. I pray that he takes care of himself. I pray that he finally start thinking of himself atleast a little bit. I pray he’s present in our everyday lives. I pray he has a beautiful reason to get up every morning. I pray he stops drinking. I pray he gets healthy. And finally I pray he gives my mom everything she deserves. Amen.

Prayers for my husband and children to be saved and follow Jesus. I know I haven’t been a good Christian and just found my way. I pray that I can be a good example to my family. That we learn to forgive the way my Heavenly Father has forgiven us. Thank you for your prayers

I pray my husband will not just believe that he is saved but would finally experience what it means to be a Christian. I pray Jesus would do a miracle in him and make himself more real than he’s even been known to him. I pray his heart would be filled with an unquenchanle desire to live for the Lord for the rest of his life! I also pray for Shaun–a man I’ve met in a shop and have been burdened to keep praying for this last year. I pray when I see him again I can share my faith in Christ and that he would be open to the gospel. Thanks so much for praying.

  5. Lisa says:

Please pray for my unsaved husband and adult children. I am a new Christian but have not lived like one nor showed my family Christ like examples in my life. I however, am so ready to live my life to please him and I pray that my family can see to forgive me as my Heavenly Father has, and will want this life as well. I know prayer is powerful I asked to be prayed for and was convicted in a week. God is good and hears us. I appreciate anyone praying for my family Thank you for your prayers
