Q:

Many years ago, I had a chance to give my life to Jesus, but I refused. I wanted to live my own life and not bother with God—and I'm afraid that's what I've done all these years. Is it too late for me now? Has my opportunity to be saved passed me by?

A:

No, it is never too late to turn to Christ and be forgiven of our sins–and it would be tragic for you to ignore this great truth. The Bible says, “I tell you, now is the time of God’s favor, now is the day of salvation” (2 Corinthians 6:2).

At Easter, I often think of the two men who were crucified with Jesus. Both deserved to die, because they both were guilty of serious crimes. As they hung beside Jesus, one of them mocked Him and scorned His claim to be the Savior. But the other cried out, “Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom” (Luke 23:42). Jesus heard that man’s plea and responded, “I tell you the truth, today you will be with me in paradise” (Luke 23:43). Almost at the last minute he was saved–and you can be, too.

No matter what your past has been, God stands ready to forgive you if you will only turn to Christ in repentance and faith. He loves you so much that He was willing to go to the cross for you, and He yearns for you to be with Him forever in heaven. Don’t let another day go by without Christ, but ask Him into your life today.

Some, however, who may be reading this are tempted to take the same road you took many years ago. Listen: Don’t gamble with your soul! Instead, discover the perfect plan God has for your life by giving yourself to Christ.
