Q:

I know you preachers like to talk a lot about Heaven, but I don't think anybody really cares about Heaven anymore. I know I don't. I have enough problems right now. Why should I think about Heaven?

A:

I’m sorry you don’t care about Heaven or think about it very much—because if you did, it would make a major difference in your life right now. Let me explain.

You see, if you truly understood Heaven’s reality, it would change your attitude toward your problems—and your whole life. If this life is all there is, then we don’t have any reason to hope our lives will ever be better. Injustices will never be made right; pain and illness will never go away; broken relationships will never be healed; sorrow and disappointment will never be banished—not completely.

But in Heaven everything will be changed—and that makes all the difference! Even when life seems to turn against us, we can have hope—hope that God is with us right now, and hope that someday everything will be made right. In Heaven, the Bible says, “There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away” (Revelation 21:4).

Don’t focus only on your life right now. Focus also on Heaven and the hope it gives us of life beyond the grave. Most of all focus on Jesus Christ, who not only taught us about Heaven but made it possible for us to go there through His death and resurrection. God loves you; He loves you so much that He wants you to spend eternity with Him in Heaven. By a simple prayer of faith ask Christ to come into your life today. He’ll make all the difference.
