Does each person have a guardian angel that watches over them? I'd like to think so, but if we do have a special angel protecting us, then why do we still have accidents and things like that?

Whenever I’m asked why bad things happen to us, I have to admit that I don’t have a full answer to that question. Evil is real, and none of us are free from its devastation.

But the Bible does tell us that for the believer nothing happens outside God’s control–and yes, if we know Christ, His angels continually watch over us. The Bible says that God “will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways” (Psalm 91:11). It also teaches that the angels–although they are largely unseen–watch over us and work for our good. The Bible says, “Are not all angels ministering spirits sent to serve those who will inherit salvation?” (Hebrews 1:14).

Rather than only one angel, therefore, God surrounds us with a host of angels to protect us and go before us. Even when hard times come, Satan can never snatch us away from their protection–and some day they will escort us safely to heaven. The reality of God’s angels should give us great confidence in the Bible’s promises.

While the angels are real, we are not to become preoccupied with them or to worship them. Only God is worthy of our worship, and only Christ saves us. Trust Him alone as your Savior, for “Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved” (Acts 4:12).

I’m so interested in angels and I just wish that some time we could talk to our guardian angels. I know we shouldn’t pray to them but maybe just to have a conversation them about a lot of things.

  2. arinaitwe James says:

I was down in spirit but because of some explanation about how angels help us, I am now encouraged. God bless you.

  5. Brenda Tomsovic says:

For the first time in two years I feel peace about my husband’s death from reading this about guardian angels. My husband said an angel came to him and told him he would be back to get him. He died about a week later. Makes my heart run over with love for our God. ❤️❤️❤️

  6. Betty says:

I am alone. I have no family, they are all deceased.

    1. Kim says:

Betty, I’m sorry and know how you feel. I only have a sister but she lives 3,000 miles away on the other side of the U.S. We talk on the phone a couple of times a month but many times I feel very alone. But we are not really alone. We are surrounded by God’s angels and of course the Lord is always with us. I sometimes struggle though because I want a “real person” to whom I can talk. I tell Jesus how I feel and that I wish I could speak to Him in person.

    2. Nancy says:

Sorry to hear this, Betty. You will meet your family again in heaven – thank you, Lord for this promise! I have seen it in a powerful dream – either Heaven or the New Jerusalem. People you don’t know will feel like family! Right now, on earth, you have a family in all of God’s saints. I pray for the Holy Spirit to comfort you. Hugs & Kisses!

    3. Stephanie says:

Through Lord Jesus Christ who represents all things good, you may find peace despite that you bare an earthly solitude, You are surrounded by a great heavenly family always. Peace to you.

    4. Shantae Stukes says:

    Love it.

  8. Gary says:

I am a born again Christian. I’m a firefighter & medic. I did what I did to help others in some of the most difficult moments in their life. Then, I had my physical ability taken from me in a bad accident. I have had five surgeries and was told last week that I will never be able to return to my profession and that I need to advance my career to something less rigorous.

So, what’s this have to do with angels? I was run over. My legs were crushed by an 8000lb vehicle. I immediately blacked out from pain. Upon arrival to the Trauma Center, a nurse noticed tire marks on my rib cage. My chest cavity wasn’t ran over or I’d be dead. I have no idea how I escaped. Angels?

Is it proper to pray or talk to your Angels about healing and such? Thanks

    1. BGEA says:

Hi Gary, we’re sorry to hear about everything you’ve been through but we praise God that you’re alive, and we know He has a plan for you. We have sent your question about angels to our Christian Response team, so someone should be emailing you about that. We do know that Mr. Graham has warned against worshiping angels or giving them too much attention instead of focusing on Christ. Here is more of what Mr. Graham has written about angels: Thank you for your comment, and God bless you. -BGEA team

  9. Arlie Roberts says:

Our son has recently come back to the Lord. Today he is on the road an he asked me to pray for his protection. He also asked about angels and though I have read Dr Graham’s good book on Angels I needed something for someone with a short attention span. This short explanation is perfect for answering our sons questions right now. Thanks
