Why Is Your Soul Valuable?

Jesus asked, “What good is it for a man to gain the whole world, yet forfeit his soul?” (Mark 8:36).

Here are some tips for understanding your soul’s worth and experiencing the life God wants for you:

1. Accept The Price God Paid For You
God’s love for you and the eternal value of your soul were demonstrated by the death of Jesus Christ on your behalf. If you have never explored what it means to find deep satisfaction and purpose in a relationship with Jesus Christ, you can do so now. >View Steps to Peace With God online

“But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us” (Romans 5:8, NKJV).

2. Protect God’s Investment
If you are in a battle with sin, determine to agree with God’s Word about that sin and resist what has been tying you down. Christ will help you in this battle as you look to Him through prayer and as you study the Bible.

“Let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us. Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God” (Hebrews 12:1-2).

3. Count The Cost
When you accept Christ, you will face the challenge of bearing His holy nature in an unholy world. It will not be easy, and sacrifices will have to be made; however, do not let this surprise you. Expect it, plan for it, and surrender to Christ’s lordship.

“Do not be surprised at the painful trial you are suffering, as though something strange were happening to you. But rejoice that you participate in the suffering of Christ, so that you nay be overjoyed when His glory is revealed” (1 Peter 4:12-13).

4. Invest In Your Future
Because God has invested so much in you, give God room in your life to do His work. Mark out time on your daily calendar not only to spend with Christ but also to communicate to others the value they have in Him. Worship God with your life.

“You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven” (Matthew 5:14-16).

5. Your Guaranteed Return
Jesus Christ is coming back to gather together all those who are His. Set your eyes on eternity and live each day in anticipation of His return and reign. Never forget the joy that will be yours in Heaven with Christ.

“For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with the in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord” (1 Thessalonians 4:16-17, NKJV).
